OMG Christmas Lan Party 2002We had 100% attendance!!! We all came and got our omg_butts kicked by Retrotron! He had to work hard for every match. I won a few, and WildMan^^ dominated a coupla times too. XKill and SaberKn1ght are getting a lot more experience, they will be a force to deal with VERY soon.We all had a blowout time! We ate more donuts and pizza than any 5 guys should be able to. We warmed up on Quake3 Arena until around noon, then dove into Unreal Tournament with guns blazing. As a closer to the day, Retrotron, WildMan^^ and I did a quick match in UT2k3, in which I, Danimal, won in overtime. I forgot to change my player name after my last install, so I beat them as Romulus.We finished off the day by taking a peek at the Doom3e3 prerelease as equipment was getting packed. Needless to say, Carmack has done it again. Please hurry Mr Carmack, we need to meet your doom!The screenshots and piccies are here!check out the tshirt design

Danimal did a mind blowing video segment of the matches using video out, a vcr, and a tv capture card. It will be available whenever we find a host for such a large file.

The original OMG Lan Party 2002
was a rocking success!!!Retrotron, Danimal, and Xkill spent 12 hard hours swapping files, showing off hardware, benchmarking, and fragging in Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament. The plan was to include UT2003, Battlefield 1942, and Dungeon Siege, but in the heat of fragging, they were forgotten.More screenies and vid clips are coming soon, but feast on this victory to end all victories...Yes, I Danimal, actually beat the legendary Retrotron in his beloved UT. Too bad it only happened once in the whole 12 hours. I was only a coupla points behind most matches, but this is my only true win.

The winner? All 3 of us---R3tr0tr0n - Fragmaster in Q3 and UT. (Cept the one match in the screenie above, hehehe) Tron ruled us both all day. It is hard to admit, but he is the resident OMG_Fragmaster. Retrotron is the main winner of the day, congrats tronnie.Danimal - Power System - Athlon 1700xp, MSI KT4 Ultra mobo, 512mb pc3200 ddr, 60 gig ata133 hdd, Geforce4 TI4200 128 meg, 19 in monitor, tv/vcr combo as second display (yes I recorded the lan party), 40/20/40 and 8/4/32 cdrw's, silver steel and aluminum window case with led fan and rounded cables. 3dMark 2001se 9899 without overclocking. Too bad all that framerate power could not win me another match. :(XKill- Raw power and storage, (we won't discuss what he uses that storage power for). His huge hdd, (100 or 120, I I forget---intentionally), and faster Athlon rock. His case is a cool screwless design darker silver Antec. Not bad, but the Voodoo3 just has to go.</Danimal>
